We are now offering a rewind service for ribbon microphone transformers, and our new mic matching transformer boxes are available. These are very useful if you have older 30 or 50 ohm microphones. More info here.

Ribbon Microphone Repairs

Xaudia offers a microphone re-ribboning service. If you have an old Reslo, Grampian, Electrovoice, Tannoy, RCA, Melodium or other ribbon microphone that needs some TLC, then we can help. Rates from £40 plus postage**, depending on the type and condition of your microphone. Click here for further details.

Transformers & Magnets

We can repair vintage microphone transformers if they are faulty, and can also re-wind them to a different impedance if required. We also supply and fit transformer upgrades for your ribbon microphones. Read more about transformer upgrades...

We can also boost the magnetic field in many vintage ribbon microphones, giving a stronger signal and lower effective noise in use. If you have an old ribbon mic with loss of magnetism and a weak output, we may be able to help.

Studio Services

Our recording studio is in Elvington, near York, UK. We have a large live room well suited to bands, and are equipped with a blend of vintage analog and the latest digital recording equipment. And of course plenty of nice microphones! Please contact us for studio rates and availability.
